RIDGEWOOD SOCCER ASSOCIATION COMMUNITY BASED ORGANISATION

 

The Ridgewood Soccer Association (RSA) plans to address a number of fundamental issues in the Awasi province of Kenya. Due to its location in the far west of Kenya the inhabitants of Awasi face numerous daily difficulties, including drought, neglect and isolation. RSA plans to improve the lives of the residents by using the power of soccer to connect youth with their community.

In the coming years RSA aims to:

• Nurture local soccer talent

• Encourage youth to work on community projects

• Offer free education, where lacking in areas

• Create awareness on health issues such as HIV, through counselling

• Promote peace, equality and understanding in the community.

• Offer spiritual nourishment through counselling.

• Discourage tribal and ethnic discrimination in rural Kenya.

• Branch out to other areas of Kenya offering the same formula.

• Build partnerships with other soccer academies in Kenya and around the world.

• Partner with other like minded community organisations.

To enhance the lives of young people living in community and other rural communities through soccer and activities that are rooted in fun, educational, and ethical principles. RSA hope to give our children and youths the discipline, knowledge, and opportunities to be successful in their future lives.

To become the association of choice, offering high co-curriculum activities and holistic development, coupled with high moral values, developing responsible and mature leaders as well as producing players who will be recognized within and beyond borders for their values and extraordinary skills.
